So I can't review or praise or snark about anything tonight because I will be chilling in the green room at Jimmy Kimmel Live because my good friend, Amir, is going to be a guest. Y'all should tune in 12:06/11:06 central. Who knows, last time the put me in the audience for the band and you could kind of see me, tonight, who knows? Also if the thought of seeing Amir and maybe seeing me wasn't enough, Frank Reynolds himself, Mr. DANNY DEVITO will be the first guest. So come on. Tune in.
Looking ahead we've got Friday Links and hopefully I'll get out to theaters to see one or more of the following; Fantastic Mr. Fox, Pirate Radio (ne the Boat that Rocked) or An Education. Who knows maybe I'll try to track down Antichrist (CHAOS REIGNS!). Also I've recently gotten a passel of Blu-rays and I'd love to let you guys pick which one I'll review for the site. Please leave your vote for one (or more) of the following in the comments:

The List is Life
To be a cinephile is to be a lover of lists. They're fun, they're utterly arbitrary and endlessly debatable. We love to rank, categorize, order, it's part of the fun. Well I say to you sickness fans that lovers of lists should drop everything they're doing (excluding my readers who are airline pilots or surgeons) and proceed immediately to the charmingly fun Peter and Rob Make Lists of Things blog. Featuring the compatible but distinct comedy voices of lab tech Peter Mende-Sidelecki and fellow writer Rob Trump, the site features daily updates of completely random lists. For example, today the site features an article of Peter's about the sixteen best Daves or Davids in the world. Oh and film fans take heart, there is an ongoing debate between the two as to whether or not President Merkin Muffley of Dr Strangelove fame should have been included on the list of greatest fictional presidents. I'm inclined to agree with Peter and say no, because a) too obvious and b) he's not that great a president, funny, but ultimately takes part in Armageddon. This site is entirely worth the visit if only to learn what a Mitch McCroy special is.

The Link Guru
Here are some distractions from even thinking about watching Mike Myers rape the corpse of Peter Sellers (I cannot WAIT until that comes up as a google search term for the blog).
Tribute:
AICN has contacted some of Stan Winston's friends and family for an incredibly moving tribute (and has subsequently reminded me why I like the site in the first place). Come read stories from the like of James Cameron, Frank Darabont, Greg Nicotero and Robert Kurtzman (the K and the N in KNB), Rick Baker, Joe Dante, Jon Favreau and Monster Squad director Fred Dekker.
Joblo also put together a nice video montage for the late great Mr. Winston.
Hype:
Speaking of AICN Moriarty got a hold of writer Brian K Vaughn's (Y the Last Man, Pride of Baghdad, Lost) script of Roundtable and the movie sounds AMAZINGLY great. A Brian K Vaughn movie that draws comparisons to Ghostbusters and Back to the Future and written with Simon Pegg and Ricky Gervais in mind?!?!?!!?!!? I'll buy twenty tickets right now!
Funny:
So with rumors of a possible Anchorman sequel swirling about some VERY disturbed, but funny fans have tale the liberty of creating an entire blog of what basically amounts to Anchorman slash fic. ANCHORMAN SLASH FIC!
List:
Wired magazine has a quick run down of great movie metamorphoses.
Etan Recommended:
In conjunction with the upcoming release of the amazing look David Fincher directed, original cast of the fountain starring, Curious Case of Benjamin Button someone is letting you read F. Scott Fitgerald's original novel in chapter installments for the cost of FREE! Bone up your Button and be one of those pretentious know-it-alls who read the book before seeing the movie here.
My friend Ian has spent years writing and directing (and I think even financing) his very original film Invisible Cities. The trailer just went up today and I must admit it looks pretty awesome. Ian has come a long way from hiding dead guys under tables while pretending to be a mother with the world's largest handlebar mustache. Check it out below. I can say I knew him when and of COURSE he'll grant the Sickness Cinema his first exclusive interview.

Iron Link
UPDATE: Hey did you know it's the 25th anniversary of Return of the Jedi? I didn't, and Star Wars used to be every third and forth word that came out of my mouth. Some wonderful people have put this very, VERY amusing video on the inter-web to celebrate. I urge all fans and former fans of the Classic Trilogy to watch. Those who bear with it get a very fun surprise about half-way through.
A heavy weekend of reviews but that doesn't mean I won't be sending you link goodness. Away we go.
Lists: EW, inspired by Cloverfield, made mention of 22 Goofy Movie Monsters. Why must you hate on Clovie Entertainment Weekly?
They do however have a solid list of 25 best big-screen bad girls (you go Mrs. Iesllin and Phyllis Deitrichson).
Analysis and Tributes: The AV Club has some very nice things to say about character actor Ray Wise.
SC Pick of the week: They also did an awesome list of 18 excellent blockbusters, see the system can work.
Nate over on the filmexperience for whom Michelle Pfeiffer is like Amy Admas to me, has 50 great things to say about birthday girl Michelle.
Funny: Just in time for Iron Man, Cracked provides us with 8 pointless laws all comic book movies follow.
They also tell you how to make a Judd Apatow movie, knowing Paul Rudd helps.
Terminator kama sutra. Internet, I love you.
Friend Pimping: My friend Amir got mentioned in Wired magazine, by the members of Human Giant no less (the youtube generation's Mr. Show don'tchaknow), check it out here.

Carold & Humor Go to Blog Castle
I have a bunch of links at the ready for you but today we'll be breaking tradition to just focus on ONE. After much persuading and nudging my friend Cary has FINALLY started his own TV blog. When I tell you this is the best thing to come to the internet since my blog I know what I'm talking about. Cary's subject is TV and that makes this site like his older sister. The site was spawned in part because of this one and I am totally flattered. His taste and mine run very close together and he's a very solid writer. Basically if you visit my site daily you should be visiting his site the second you're done here. He'll be covering all the shows I love but don't have the time to cover here; The Office, 30 Rock, Lost, How I Met Your Mother, Pushing Daisies, Friday Night Lights, Project Runway, Law and Order: SVU and many, many more. From what he's told me he has some very cool recurring features coming up too, so you aren't going to want to miss that!
Believe me when I say that the man loves TV the way I love movies. In fact even when drunk he doesn't call out the names of people he declares his love for TV. THAT, my friends, is devotion to your medium.
So where can you find this Cadillac of TV blogs? Right here. Or you can do what I did and just make http://ijustlovetvsomuch.blogspot.com/ part of your daily website visiting rotation. Well, get on it. By the way, in case you're wondering, my June summer preview will be up later today. Until then enjoy the site.

Miss Pettigrew Links for a Day
Friend pimping: Terry of thewunderblog.com fame had some very nice things to say about me and the blog. Which is funny because I happen to have some very nice things to say about him. Particularly now that he updates more frequently and you never know what crazy, random thing he'll blog about next. You should make it a point to check him on the daily here.
Also worth mentioning is Josh Heller taking a break from composing jingles to sit down and write a serious look at the amazing sounding Urban Iditarod competition. It's some pretty damn compelling reportage, both equal parts informative, thoughtful and hilarious. If you absolutely, positively must click on only one link in this whole article make it this one here. Then reassess why you only can click on just one link. Get it together man.
Funny Stuff: Cracked.com lists the Top 25 piecs of Movie Merchandise too awesome to exist. Laugh at the Capote action figure here.
TV Stuff: A ton of solid TV related stuff this week. First up is a link that is already being hailed as "controversial" and has my friend Offer threatening to kill me for potentially ruining Lost. The guys who created this page were EXTREMELY thorough so beware. The mysteries of the island may well be revealed here.
The man who created Hamsterdam wants to make it happen in real life. Wire fans check out David Simon's take on the war on drugs courtesy of Time Magazine here.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator Rob McElhenny has some big, hilarious sounding plans for next season. "The gang takes on the sub-prime mortgage crisis" anyone? You can await the return of "Day Man" (yes they're bringing it back) here.
Lists: I'm a sucker for lists like how Nelly is a sucker for cornrows and manicured toes. Radar provides a look at the most misogynistic films of the last decade here.
Film Babble has a look at the ten most misleading posters/DVD covers of all-time here.
Analysis: Creative loafing makes a pretty compelling defense for the recently lackluster Will Ferrell. Break out of the glass case of emotion here.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: I can think of no better gift than having a great comedy arrive square on my birthday (actually yes I can but I've been sworn to not mentioning it on the blog by the lady :)). This year will be full of chock full of glorious Apatow produced goodness but I'm especially excited for audiences to discover what fans of How I Met Your Mother and Freaks & Geeks already know. Namely that Jason Segel is a glorious comedy lead. The film, which Segel writes and stars in, will look at break-ups the way Knocked-Up looked at pregnancy. The film already has a very character specific website up, though the url is being rumored to change (a fun but tricky to execute gimmick). Try it at either ilovesarahmarshall.com or ihatesarahmarshall.com It should be noted that the titular Sarah is being played by Veronica Mars herself, Kristen Bell.
There is also a not especially informative but VERY funny interview with a good chunk of the cast (including Jack McBrayer 30 Rock fans) along with director Nick Stoller and producer Shauna Robertson done by Quint over at AICN here.
Youtube faves for this week:
Frank pointed me to this remarkable little gem first (though I received it MANY times subsequently). The opening titles of Star Wars redone as though they'd been created by titles impresario Saul Bass.
Sweeding is taking off (as I predicted) and one of the best I've seen so far is the concise, hilarious and still great version of Once. Damn I love that movie.
Screw that little girl who described the plot of Star Wars. Here is a young man after my own heart. Drainage indeed!
And lastly, Jason Sudekis goes too far. Isn't it enough being Tina Fey's fictional boyfriend? Sudekis!!!!! Oooo I can't wait for Saturday.

I Link Your Milkshake!
Phew. Oh man, it's done. Now I get why people usually do ten. Good lord. Anyway here are this weeks links. There is kind of a Wire/There Will Be Blood theme going on here. If you don't know what The Wire is, stick around and I shall discuss it soon.
Wire Stuff:
Nick Hornby interviews David Simon, creator of The Wire here. I'm pretty sure this is the modern day equivalent of Mark Twain interviewing Ben Franklin in terms of awesome.
The House Next Door breaks down the anatomy of The Wire's opening title sequence here.
There Will Be Blood Stuff:
The IFC has compiled a list of critical reaction to the quick to legendary status "I drink your milkshake" scene here.
Internet I love you. See why by clicking here.
Misc. Stuff:
Film Threat has a list of the greatest "lost" films of all time right here. Intriguing stuff.
Here's something a bit lighter, Cracked, tells us all about the worst 15 James Bond one-liners here.
Read. Dance. Bliss. pointed me towards this bit of awesome here. This is the video for anyone who has ever watched an internet video.
Laura Katz is the reason I love most of the music I do (and have most of the music I do-but don't tell the record companies that). Her blog is as the kids say "teh sex", check it out here.

The Diving Link and the Butterlink (cause Nate already took There will be LInk)
New Friday, new links, lets get to work:
While I disagree with some of their points this is still a plenty funny article about some retroactive re-shoots that could've made the year better courtesy of Guardian Unlimited. Click here.
Internet produced parodies, generally I can take them or leave them but my good friends (no lie, I've got pictures) over at College Humor recently put up a very high class take on a certain Eastwood flick that can always do with a little ribbing. PS Any child of the 90's would be remiss to ignore their Street Fighter series. Click here for some Million Dollar Babies.
Film related cheesecake you say? Why I've got some right here courtesy of the good folks @ Joblo.com (and I don't mean the kind of cheesecake they gamble over in that scene from Guys and Dolls).
Someone took the time to break down the four major male character arcs that keep seem to be cropping in movies of late here. Not included in this article, why Dane Cook keeps cropping up in movies of late.
Ooo I liked this one, see the growth of Tim Burton and his experience with musical numbers leading up to Sweeney Todd here.
Hey howdeydodat long tracking shot in Atonement? American Cinematographer has your back right here.
Hey remember when Steve Martin was funny? So does this lady, click here to look back and fondly remember.

Funny thing about my back
Alright time for some mutual love and admiration. Terry Wunder has been kind enough to pimp the hell out of my site over on his own amusing blog. He also suggested I host something called an "immigration booze cruise." Not a big fan of cruises as its basically an excuse for terrible off-Broadway actors to get a steady paycheck as "ship's entertainment" and eat a metric ton of unhealthy food. Since I live in New York City I'm exposed to both of those things on a daily basis without the need for Dramamine. I was also grouped into a category of potential hosts with no less an august personage as Joe Rogan. I tip my hat hat to Terry for picking the second oddest comedian I've ever been compared to. The first being the people on my Israel trip saying I'd be the next Bill Maher. I was insulted for like a day before I was told this was a compliment. Hah, to Bill Maher maybe.
In addition to having the second coolest name of an actual real person I have ever met (Harvey Justice being the first) Terry's blog is packed to the rafters with awesome. Bitchin' video links, musings on what a woman's reading material tells you about her and the greatest overview of the plot of The Darjeeling Limited EVER! The "Save a Boy?" line makes me laugh every time. Terry himsef is a pretty great guy, we've had good times making up ridiculous Will Ferrell-esque exclamations and he's still my friend despite the fact I've made like nine variations of the "hungry an hour later" joke to his face. What a guy.
So in honor of Terry's virtual HJ (I don't doubt at least some of the influx of hits I've been getting have been coming from him-but come on CITs leave a comment) here is a mini tribute to him based on a song his kids used to sing about him. Give it about a minute to get there. It'll make sense. This is from George Miller's 2006 film Happy Feet which would have been my Enchanted of last year if not for the bizarre tonal shift half-way through. But oh well musical theatre penguins still save the world through song and dance so really I can't get too upset about it. Clip starts at the 3:00 minute mark.
One final note, the title refers to a line from Superbad wherein a character says to Jonah Hill's Seth that if he'll scratch her back, she'll scratch his. I trust you know the rest.
