1. The ending of Iron Man: the single greatest last line of a superhero film ever ("I'm Iron Man," not all this Avengers nonsense that has me increasingly worried about Marvel Studios' overeager ambitions)
2. Jason Segel taking control of the Muppets: Could only be in more capable hands if I was also working on it. I will gladly be Fozzie's stand in.
3. Manolha Dagis' last editorial in the New York Times about women in film: I'm a huge proponent of strong female leads, and would rather see the new Indy movie lead to a Karen Allen spin-off than one starring "The Beef". That said, Dagis has her head firmly shoved up her vagina.
4. The MTV movie awards: I hate them a little more each year. Plus the fact that they're most nominated film of the year (Superbad) was my no. 2 film of the year makes me question my own tastes.
5. Ellen Page as Jane Eyre: Entirely unnecessary remake. This smacks of a vanity project.

4. Ambiguity or clarity: If you do ambiguity right, it should actually be pretty clear.
5. Characters or plot: This is a stupid question. Characters inform where your plot goes, plot dictates how your characters become richer. You cannot have one without the other. Why not just ask "cupcakes or frosting"?
